BALDWIN DRIVE

A topographic survey and drainage design was prepared for a resident at 11 Baldwin Drive to help alleviate a drainage problem.

FARRELL FIELD

Technical assistance was provided to the Recreation Department for the inspection of the rehabilitation of Fields #1 and #4. The inspections included the rough grading and final grading of the fields.

LAKE PARK TERRACE

An inspection was performed at 31 Lake Park Terrace regarding a drainage concern. Additional field work, inspections and research will be performed to address the concern.

LOT DEVELOPMENT PLAN REVIEW

Two (2) initial, single-family, residential lot development plans were reviewed for compliance with Section 110-4 of the Township Code and any applicable Board resolutions.  Four (4) as-built / final plans were reviewed, inspected and processed as needed.  All lot development plan review results are entered into the “Spatial Data Logic” system.  The results are also posted for public consumption within the Engineering Division section of the Township’s website (www.westmilford.org) under the Site Plan Tracker.

ROAD ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

An inspection was performed at the end of Jefferson Street for resident concerns regarding minor punch list construction items.

UPPER HIGH CREST ROAD

An inspection was performed on Upper High Crest Road regarding the Passaic Valley Water Commission water main replacement project.  PVWC was notified of the results of the inspection.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Technical assistance, regarding lot development plans, storm drainage issues, active construction projects, flood zones, right-of-way issues, etc. was provided to concerned residents on 26 occasions.  Field inspections, photographs, reports and/or follow up were required for 12 of these issues.
  • Technical assistance was provided, for various issues, to other departments on 28 occasions.
  • File research, map copies and/or information were provided to professionals on 4 occasions.
  • 5 large format map copies were made at $5.00 each.
  • Assistance was provided to builders, contractors and utilities on 4 occasions.
  • Research was performed for Engineering records regarding an ongoing road maintenance concern.
  • Quotes were requested for the paving of a portion of the UGL First Aid Squad parking lot as a result of building renovation
  • Two soil transport operations were investigated
  • A principles of paving webinar was attended by the Engineering staff.
  • Assistance was provided to the Department of Public Works to locate four (4) monitoring wells at the Department of Public Works building.
  • A teleconference safety committee meeting was attended.
  • An internal snow plow meeting was attended to discuss the upcoming winter season.
  • A pre-construction meeting was held with the contractor for the Township road resurfacing program.
  • 6 Right-of-Way Entry permits were reviewed, inspected and forwarded to the Clerk’s Office for processing.

 

CAPITAL PROJECTS

 

BANKER ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Banker Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

BLACKFOOT ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Blackfoot Road (Township-owned portion) are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

BURNT MEADOW ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Burnt Meadow Road, between House #753 and the end of the roadway pavement, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

CALDWELL ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Caldwell Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

CLINTON ROAD (ROAD RESURFACING PROGRAM)

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Clinton Road, between 1,550’ north of Van Orden Road and continuing 0.8 miles, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program

CLINTON ROAD - SECTION 3

Preliminary field work and construction plan preparation for the resurfacing of Clinton Road between Passaic County Structures #175 and #177 continued.  This 0.8-mile project is being partially funded by a $215,000 State Aid roadway infrastructure grant.

DAYTON ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Dayton Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

ELMWOOD COURT

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Elmwood Court are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

FRANKLIN COURT

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Franklin Court are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

GERMANTOWN ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Germantown Road, between 1,850’ north of Route 23 and Forest Hill Drive, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

GLEN DRIVE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Glen Drive are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

HADDON ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Haddon Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

HAMILTON DRIVE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  Technical assistance was provided to the Department of Public Works for drainage improvements prior to resurfacing.  The improvements to Hamilton Drive are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

ISLAND TRAIL

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Island Trail (Township-owned portion) are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

LARAMIE TRAIL

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Laramie Trail (Township-owned portion) are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

LAKE SHORE DRIVE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Lake Shore Drive, between Passaic Drive and 1,500’ south of Mapleshade Road, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

LOUIS AVENUE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Louis Avenue are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MARK TERRACE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Mark Terrace are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

MOUNTAINSIDE ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Mountainside Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

OLDE HICKORY ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Olde Hickory Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

OLD LAKESIDE ROAD SOUTH

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  Drainage improvements were staked out prior to Department of Public Works construction.  The improvements to Old Lakeside Road South are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

OTTERHOLE ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Otterhole Road, between Weaver Road and the Township line, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

POOL DRIVE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Pool Drive are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

RELDA AVENUE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Relda Avenue are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

RIDGE ROAD - SECTION 6

The Governing Body awarded, by resolution, a construction contract for the resurfacing of Ridge Road between Union Valley Road and Cahill Cross Road at the September 2nd meeting.  A preconstruction meeting was held with the contractor. The Contractor began construction on September 21st and paving is anticipated to be complete in early October.  Full-time, daily inspection was performed during construction activities.  This 1.2-mile project is being partially funded by a $290,000 State Aid roadway infrastructure grant.

SOPHIE AVENUE

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Sophie Avenue are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

SPRUCE POINT TRAIL

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Spruce Point Trail (Township-owned portion) are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

ULSTER STREET

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Ulster Street are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

WESTWOOD COURT

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Westwood Court are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

WOOLEY ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Wooley Road, between House #95 and #267, are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

YALE ROAD

Field work was performed prior to the start of the road resurfacing.  The improvements to Yale Road are being included under the 2020 Township Road Resurfacing Program.

2020 TOWNSHIP CRACK SEAL PROGRAM

The Contractor was notified of this year’s crack seal program and received materials to begin scheduling work, estimated to begin in November.  This year’s program awarded by the Governing Body through the Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council is designed to seal surface pavement cracks on portions of Henderson Road, Oak Drive, Cooper Road, Silver Lane, Gold Lane, Circle Drive, Ash Road, Cliff Road, Winetka Lane, Milford Lane, Melody Lane, Center Street (Melody Lane to O’Leary Road), Center Street (Carolyn Street to Belleau Gateway), Charles Street, Maisie Lane, Vine Avenue, Old Road, Leslie Drive, Larsen Road, East Park Drive, Clinton Road (Warwick Turnpike to Clinton View Terrace), Delaware Road and Magnolia Road.  Since instituting the program in 2002, the surface pavement cracks have been sealed on more than 66 miles of Township roads.  Studies show that sealing pavement cracks can extend the service life of the surface course pavement by as much as five years.
