Trespassing Now a Crime at New Jersey MUA Sites

Unlicensed Structure Entry Can Draw Fines

It is now a crime of the fourth degree to trespass on any power generating plant, public sewage facility, public water facility, waste water treatment facility, nuclear electric generating plant or any facility which stores, generates, or handles any hazardous chemical compounds.  A fine of $10,000 and/or 18 months in prison can be levied against anyone that is not licensed or privileged to enter such premises.  This is a protective measure for domestic security.
