Mayor’s Message 2010

Dear West Milford Neighbor,

As we begin a new year, I would like to take this opportunity to say that it is my honor and privilege to serve as your Mayor.

I have had the great pleasure of meeting many residents personally, while countless others have contacted me via phone and email. I encourage you to continue to reach out to me, so that together we can solve problems and improve upon our quality of life. As always, I will listen to your ideas and address your concerns. I am available 24/7 and welcome your suggestions.

These past two years have been extremely challenging for West Milford and our Nation as a whole. Indeed, West Milford has not been immune to the economic downturn, societal changes, and stresses of today’s environment. Since taking office in 2008, our township has faced many difficult challenges, including budgetary, legislative, administrative, environmental, and political.

As your Mayor, I have promised to do my best and to represent the majority of our residents on a fair and factual basis. I will continue to make tough decisions, not based on popularity or special interests, but on what is in the township’s best interest. I am confident that with continued hard work and dedication, most of these challenges will be overcome.

Although we are a diverse community, those of us willing to pool our resources, exchange ideas amicably, work cooperatively, and put our differences aside will continue to play a critical role in moving our township forward. This type of community spirit is already evident in so many aspects of our township, most notably the many wonderful volunteer organizations and their members, who care so deeply about West Milford. Along with these individuals, we will continue to meet our future challenges and keep West Milford a special place to live.

On behalf of the Township Council, our Administrator Kevin Boyle, Township Clerk Antoinette Battaglia, and all of our dedicated township employees, I wish you and your family a healthy, joyous, and prosperous New Year!
