As part of breast cancer awareness month and in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation "Tie a Ribbon" campaign, Girl Scout Troop 519 will be tying pink ribbons around trees outside town hall for the month of October. The pink ribbons are a symbol of courage, support and hope for a cure and honor those who have been touched by the disease. The ribbons are also a way to raise awareness and remind women to do their monthly self exams, schedule a clinical exam, and get their mammogram.
